Fort Collins Motorcycle Accident: Motorcyclist hospitalized following Wednesday night crash on West Prospect Road.

The investigation into a motorbike crash that left a man injured on Wednesday night is currently underway by the Fort Collins Police Services.

According to police, deputies from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office reportedly observed a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle committing multiple traffic violations in the vicinity of South College Avenue and Laurel Street at approximately 8:38 p.m.

According to police, deputies pursued the motorbike and made an attempt to initiate a traffic stop. According to police, the motorcyclist, identified as a male, proceeded southbound on College Avenue and subsequently made a westbound turn onto West Prospect Road. According to police, the man persisted in travelling at a high speed towards the west on West Prospect Road, disregarding multiple traffic lights. The situation took a turn when a Nissan Frontier collided with the motorbike at the intersection of South Shields Street.

According to police, a motorbike collided with a stationary Audi A4 on West Prospect Road and ultimately came to a stop on the western side of South Shields Street.

The rider involved in the crash was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. The individual was subsequently transported to the hospital with critical injuries. According to police, there were no reported injuries to the individuals inside the Audi and the Nissan.

The identity of the motorbike rider remains undisclosed at this time.

According to police, the crash prompted the closure of the intersection at South Shields Street and West Prospect Road for several hours as crews conducted their investigation.
